Bali Silver Clasps

For the jewelry maker, clasps are the all-important finishing touch to what truly is a piece of art. Clasps come in a wide diversity of shapes and sizes. Finding the right one for a specific piece is largely a matter of taste. You can choose from a simple hook to ornate toggle clasps, even gemstone studded ones.

If you are already a jewelry making hobbyist, I'm sure you already know what a Toggle is, but the rest of us might need a little explanation.

Toggle is essentially a primitive but effective means for clasping two ends of a chain. A toggle consists of a bar on one end, and hoop that the bar goes through.

The bar slides through vertically and rests against the hoop horizontally. Sterling silver toggles are an elegant means of clasping a fine bracelet or necklace.

The gemstone toogles are bit more expensive but the cost is nothing when compared to the beauty of the finished pieces. These add a couple of stars to the necklace or bracelet.

There are other, less popular, types of clasps also like:

1.Box Clasps

2.Lobster Clasps
